Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to in the media as Ashanti was born on 13 October 1981 in Glen Cove New York United States. Ashanti is an United States singer, songwriter as well as an actor. Ashanti, a teenage performer, songwriter and actress from the United States has been signed to Murder Inc. The 16th of October Hey Baby (After the Club) was made available to radio and digital outlets. She was in the film Christmas in the City and as Latasha Montclair in Army Wives.
